uh is a London-based electronic duo comprised of siblings Fionnuala Kennedy & Dominic Kennedy. The two grew up in Harlesden, north-west London, where their parents had moved to from the west coast of Ireland before they were born. uh's sound echoes synth pop with a DIY punk edge...think Young Marble Giants meets The Human League. Their forthcoming debut album humanus is embedded in the London that they grew up in – it searches for the space and still that was a hallmark of their previous EP Seasick in Salts, but many of the tracks here are more skittish, urgent and beat-driven. 'comfortable' is the latest track to arrive from the record - it's an uplifting and moreish dance track. The fizzy bass flitters between low and high notes, eventually satisfyingly locking in to a live beat whilst playful synths tones dance around. Fiona's vocals become increasingly more vigorous as the track progresses as she 'Take time to recover, take time to carry on', she continues, 'I'm not tired, I'm just trying to spend my life in you cos I'm not comfortable in my skin'. Recorded at their label's PRAH Studios in Margate, humanus drops on 28th April.
